What’s a Climb-a-Thon?

The Night Owl Climb-a-Thon is a challenge-based climbing fundraiser. You are encouraged to set personal climbing goals and seek pledges from friends, family, and colleagues. With every reach, hold, and send, you are not just conquering the walls–you are also actively contributing to increasing access to paraclimbing.

Why Fundraise?

ParaCliffHangers PCH is a local started non-profit climbing community for people with disabilities. This event is a fundraiser to help cover our programs across the US. By gathering pledges, you are helping us increase access to climbing for people with disabilities both indoors, outdoors and competitively. As a 501c3 organization, all donations are tax deductible and will receive a receipt.

$20 minimum is required for entry, whether fundraised or donated yourself!

How does it work?

First, set a climbing goal: the number of routes you think you can climb in a night. Then, you climb as many routes as you possibly can during the Night Owl Climb-a-thon. Prizes will be awarded for those with the most climbs and the most fundraised.  

Is this for everyone?

Absolutely! This is for ALL climbers of ALL experience levels. Night Owl Climb-a-thon will not only push your personal goals, but hopes to further inspire the climbing community. Get to know other climbers and create new belaytionships that will hopefully last a lifetime. 

Seriously, til 2AM?

Oh yeah, the gym will be open till 2 AM that’s right. We will have climbing (obviously), food, movies, clinics, raffles, mini-comps, pajamas and MORE… The doors will be locked for your safety, but you will be free to leave anytime you wish. 

Should I have a goal?

You should set a climbing goal that pushes your limits but that also makes you finish the night proud of yourself. Your Fundraising goal should invigorate you to climb hard and grow access to climbing. Goals may vary from $50 to $500 or even $5,000. Remember that there will be a prize for most climbs as well as most fundraised!

How do I sign up?

  1. Head to our Givebutter Page and click Fundraise under Team Members, and create your fundraising profile.  

  2. Set a Goal for your Climbs for the Night. 

  3. Share your fundraising page with your family and friends to encourage pledges. 

  4. Join Us Saturday, February 10th for the Climb-A-Thon, and top as many routes as you can! 

What else should I know?

  1. This is a top-rope only event.  

  2. 18+. Youth are welcome with parent or guardian.

  3. Participants will be able to leave at any time and are not required to stay to the end. 

  4. Food and Drinks will be available throughout the event for purchase

  5. Nap spaces will be designated–BYOB (bring your own blanket!)

  6. Clinics and mini-comps will be throughout the night to give participants an opportunity to rest. 

  7. It is not necessary to attend with a climbing partner. Belay-mixer will be available for those looking to meet new people.
